Learn About Impact Investing

The Alabama Power Foundation was one of the first corporate foundations in the country to start a Program Related Investment program.

Through PRIs – or Impact Investing – the Foundation provides partners with low-cost capital that can be recycled to support other charitable projects. These investments are available to nonprofits and for-profit entities with a philanthropic purpose.

Our work with PRIs started back in 2019. Since then, the Foundation has invested more than $5 million in 24 projects through balloon loans, convertible notes, lines of credit, and loan guarantees.
